CarboSource — source-side deployment programme.

CarboSource is preparing partner pilots for mobile pyrolysis units near biomass sources, to reduce collection and long-distance transport.

CarboSource starts with the biomass available at a site, then assesses the equipment, operators and evidence records it would need.

CarboSource is how Carbotor plans to work with source sites. Carbotor would equip, train and keep the evidence record; the partner would operate the unit and produce biochar under an agreed programme.

How CarboSource works

A deployment that evolves into a partnership.

  1. Build — plan the equipment for the site: a mobile pyrolysis unit (MPU) or a small or medium kiln. Partner pilots are in preparation.
  2. Qualify — assess the site's infrastructure and its real, year-round biomass supply.
  3. Deploy — place the right unit for a qualifying site, subject to evaluation and agreement. Carbotor would retain ownership.
  4. Train — operator and partner training (CharMaker pathway).
  5. Onboard — enrol operators in Akshaya Dhara, the free field app in pilot. Enrolled producers use phone OTP; open self-serve sign-up and coordinator and verifier views are coming soon.
  6. Partner — build an ongoing working relationship under programme terms. Team Carbotor reviews B2B access requests by email: ad@carbotor.co.in.
  7. Evidence — start the custody chain in the field app, with timestamped records sealed on the phone. Registry-ready claims are in preparation; telemetry hardware is in pilot.
What CarboSource is

Carbotor's deployment programme, placed at the source.

CarboSource is Carbotor's deployment programme for placing source-side biochar infrastructure where biomass already exists: deployment-site evaluation, placement, local facilitation, operator training, field-evidence coordination, and programme administration.

Where residue biomass is generated on site or nearby, a unit could be placed under programme terms after evaluation and agreement. Partner pilots are in preparation; Carbotor would retain equipment ownership.

Who may qualify

Built for sites where biomass is generated.

CarboSource may suit FPOs, agro-industrial mills, plantations, forestry and forest-department sites, municipal green-waste programmes, and SME or industrial sites with steady residue. Individual charmaker clusters qualify only where they are supervised and programme-ready.

Farmer Producer Organisations

Suitable where biomass supply is continuous, member-linked, and locally organised around a defined operating base.

Forest departments

Suitable where biomass recovery, land-restoration objectives, and institutional oversight already exist.

Plantation cooperatives and agro-industrial mills

Suitable where residue streams are concentrated enough to support structured on-site deployment under programme terms.

Municipal green-waste programmes

Suitable where biomass handling is already organised and verification discipline can be maintained over time.

Qualification logic

Qualification depends on biomass continuity, site readiness, operator availability, and programme fit — not on interest alone. The programme is selective. Every applicant, from individual charmakers and FPOs to SME and industrial sites, goes through the same qualification path.

What the source partner contributes
  • A site where residue biomass is generated on site or nearby, so the unit reduces collection and hauling.
  • Operating access to the site and basic site readiness.
  • Two nominated operators for the CharMaker training pathway within CarboSource.
  • In-kind support: local infrastructure and logistics.
What Carbotor would provide
  • A proposed MPU or small kiln matched to the site, under programme terms. Partner pilots are in preparation.
  • Akshaya Dhara field app and evidence custody for the site, in pilot.
  • CharMaker operator training and commissioning support from our Kakinada plant. The training covers this deployment only; running a unit commercially on your own needs a separate agreement.
  • Technical support and record-keeping for independent review. Registry-ready work is in preparation.
What the source partner receives
  • Commercial terms are set in each agreement and depend on site evaluation, project data, applicable standards and independent verification.
  • Biochar for local agronomic or community use, subject to the site agreement.
  • A site-linked digital record (dMRV), in pilot.
Programme position

Under the proposed programme, Carbotor owns and supports the unit, the partner's trained operators run it, and Akshaya Dhara keeps the field record. Partner pilots are in preparation.
